BRUKER TENSOR II FTIR
GENERAL INFORMATION |
The Bruker TENSOR II is a research-grade Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectrometer that provides molecular and chemical characterization through analysis of infrared absorption. The instrument measures how materials interact with infrared radiation to generate spectra that serve as molecular fingerprints, enabling identification of chemical bonds, functional groups, and molecular structures across a wide range of sample types.
The standard configuration operates in the mid-infrared region (8,000–340 cm⁻¹) using a globar source, KBr beamsplitter, and DLaTGS detector. Optional configurations extend coverage into the near-infrared (up to 11,000 cm⁻¹) or far-infrared (down to 200 cm⁻¹). The system features Bruker DigiTect technology for high-dynamic-range digital signal acquisition, automatic component recognition (ACR) for streamlined configuration, and a purge-capable enclosure to minimize atmospheric interference from water vapor and CO₂.
Common applications include identification of unknown compounds, analysis of polymers and thin films, characterization of pharmaceuticals and biological samples, gas-phase analysis, and surface chemistry studies.
