Prior to being granted access to any tool in the electron microscopy Laboratory, a potential user must be trained and qualified for use of that specific piece of equipment. One should have a UNI and Badger account from the onset as the training time will be billed back to the trainee's group.

1. Official training on the TEM should only be done by staff (Dr. Amirali Zangiabadi <az2476@columbia.edu>). Training request form can be found here: Electron Microscopy Access.

2. Training on other systems in the EM lab, including Zeiss SEM, can be done by superusers or an experienced and certified user from the same research group.

3. Certification on all the tools can only be done by superusers or staff.
