The Gatan Dimple Grinder 656 is used to create a dimple in the thinned sample for a thinner central area and mechanical stability. Grinding wheels and polishing wheels are 10, 15, and 20 mm in size. Grinding can be set by dimple depth or by final specimen thickness.
